Volunteers are Welcome into Programs!

The long awaited time for BGC Strathcona County and likewise organizations to open their doors to volunteers has finally come. BGC is so thankful for the many ways in which volunteers give us the ability to offer amazing programs to our children, youth and their families. In 2019, we reported over 4500 hours of volunteer work that allowed our programs to run. With our organization steadily growing in the community, this requirement of volunteer hours is becoming more and more pressing; we want YOU to come see what BGC is about!!

Volunteers are welcome to come forward with interest in our ReWild Nature Programs with Pre-K aged kids who are into exploring and having fun outdoors, be part of our Before and After School Volunteer team to assist with in-school programs, show up with our Youth Programs to chill with youth in the evenings, and so many more. We run rec-based sports programs, weekly night programs with art, cooking, or other activities, and homework help options... the opportunities to play and hang out with kids and youth are literally endless.

Volunteers can get involved by emailing info@scbgc.com with their name, age, and scope of volunteering wishes. BGC Strathcona County requires that their volunteers submit a valid Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check. Residents of Strathcona County can request a volunteer letter be supplied for the Criminal Record Check.
